Privacy and data

Privacy notice

This notice explains how Madar handles information when you use the public site, practical tools and external links.

Public tools do not require your tax file

Public tools process numbers and choices in your browser. Their code does not send these inputs to the Madar database or NBR, and does not request business names, account numbers or original documents.

Copies and downloads on your device

Choosing to copy or download a report creates a copy in your clipboard or files. Resetting the tool does not delete those copies; remove them yourself when no longer needed and take care when sharing them.

Browsing and hosting

Processing tool inputs in the browser does not make browsing free of technical data. The hosting service receives page requests and may process connection data and operational logs. Madar code adds no visitor advertising or analytics tools; this notice does not specify the hosting provider’s log-retention period.

Do not enter confidential information

Do not place personal, commercial or tax-account data, dispute details or unpublished documents in the fields. Use approximate or de-identified figures when testing a tool.

External sources have their own policies

Some links open the National Bureau for Revenue, the Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission or another official website. Browsing there is governed by the receiving site's settings and policy.

Administration is separate from the public site

Administration uses the email provided by the sign-in service to check access and displays the name when available. The Madar database stores editorial content, the record creator’s email and creation and update dates. Published content is public; drafts and editor notes are for administration.

Practical rule

Enter the minimum information necessary

Madar is a knowledge and guided-tools platform, not a repository for taxpayer files. Remove identifying details from examples and do not use a tool to submit a return, document or objection.

External links and official sources

External links are provided so that you can reach the official source and check the current version. Madar does not own or control the external site's information practices or future page changes.
